    Beautiful poem and photo πŸ™‚

    1. Mary K. Doyle

LOL. If a spider can do it . . .

  7. satyam rastogi

    Nice post 🌺🌺

  8. Dawna

Wow, just wow. That is one heck of a web. It’s such an amazing accomplishment in being able to spin such a large web like that. What a gift from God who has given the spiders the ability to spin webs for us to be able to recognize the depths of His gifts for us. It is awe inspiring the abilities He has given to us as humans and it is even more awe how He’s given such abilities to animals and insects alike. Amazing.

Thank you for sharing. Happy Monday and hugs to you.

    1. Mary K. Doyle

Thank you, Dawna. I’ve taken many photos of webs since this photo, but none show the intricacies as this one. It is truly amazing how a tiny creature can construct such a magnificent structure. Thank you for your faith-filled comment, my dear Dawna.

  9. Edward Ortiz

Wonderful, Mary. It’s pretty amazing to see the craftsmanship of those little creatures.

    1. Mary K. Doyle

Thank you, Dorothy. Little creature. Big work of art.

  13. Stephanie

Was going to ask whether it was your own photo, but see the answers below. How stunning! Not that the spider has any inkling of our admiration… or maybe..? πŸ™‚

    1. Mary K. Doyle

All photos on my site are mine unless noted otherwise. But yes, the spider is the true artist.

      1. Stephanie

        Artistic beholder as well. πŸ™‚

  14. Nancy Homlitas

This is an impressive image of a spider’s handiwork with a great poetic description-but the web does resemble a vinyl record album. πŸ™‚

      I see that, Nancy! Crazy.

    1. Mary K. Doyle

Thank you, Nougat. Blessings on this glorious day.

  29. hubertprevy

I’ve always admired Haiku. It can convey emotions in a way nothing else can.
I have been unable to craft one to to this day, so please, accept compliments from me as a fellow poet – if an amateur, immature and one sorely negligent of his poetry-related endeavors.

    1. Mary K. Doyle

Thank you for the compliment, Hubert. I’m sure you can write a fabulous haiku. Every word counts. Haikus tend to be emotional, appeal to the senses, and I still use the standard 5, 7, 5 syllable pattern. Keep writing. I can’t wait to see what you create.

      1. hubertprevy

The next step in my ambitions of poetry writing would be to acquire the skill of creating the Spenserian Stanza, followed by the Everest of poetry – the Cynghanedd meter. And haiku is simply floating high above them all. They are years of training ahead of me.

      2. hubertprevy

I ventured into poetry through the following works, though primarily as embellishments to complement sections of a novel:
