We in the Midwest are special. We aren’t too glitzy or plain and don’t move too quickly or too slowly. Our cities are a mix of cultures and cuisines. Our suburbs are family and faith centered. For the most part, we are downright nice. We smile at strangers walking down the street, chip in when neighbors are in need, and embrace the change of seasons.
Welcome to my blog, Midwest Mary. I’m an author and would love to exchange thoughts and ideas with you. We’ll cover a wide variety of topics that are relevant to everyone, but especially so for us in the middle. Please comment and let me know how you agree and disagree. We can learn so much from each other.

Thank you, Kathy. If you have suggestions for future posts I’d love to hear them.
Hello Mary,
It was great meeting you and sitting next to you this evening at Judson University listening to Mikhail Gorbachev speak. It made a special evening even more special because of your warm personality and conversation. Thank you for sharing so much. Parts of our days are definitely paralleled.
Blessings for all you do!

It was wonderful to meet you, Jane. Hope we cross paths again many times.
Mary,
I love seeing your blog. You have such talent and are extremely modest in your accomplishments. I am proud to call you my friend.
Beth
Thank you. I appreciate your friendship as well. 🙂
Hi Mary…I really like your description of we Midwesterners (is that the proper way to say that?!?) I agree totally. I enjoy your blog!!
Marla
Thanks, Marla!
Very nice to meet a nice person. As nice as you sound, you must feel as though you’re in a war zone when you hit the east or west coast.
LOL. Not at all. There are lovely people everywhere. Thank you for the fine writing you do on your blog.
