Hahaha. I actually haven’t ever seen a butterfly hit the window, Maggie. This was a nod to a beautiful friend who liked to tease about how harsh her native language (German) is to other languages.

Awwww. Me realizing Mariposa means Butterfly in Spanish 😌 I have heard that word a handful of times.
The Spanish word is so soft and lovely, very descriptive of the delicate butterfly as opposed to the somewhat harsh German.
I do not understand German at all, so I couldn’t get the joke. 😹

My two favorite things, well three actually. Butterflies, hummingbirds and purple.
Yes, the purple flowers bloom on the butterfly bush. Butterflies and hummingbirds love it. However, I don’t have many blooms at the moment.
ahhh, nice. I’m sure you enjoy being able to sit and watch those amazing creatures enjoy your butterfly bush. I bet you can’t wait for it to bloom again, in the spring perhaps?
It should keep blooming until it freezes, but it is slower right now. Maybe because we haven’t had much rain. We did have rain yesterday, so here’s hoping.

Butterfly is typically a soft word in most languages. How is it in yours? Is that Tagalog?

Allen, this was a nod to a German friend, Irene, who made me laugh with her jokes about the harshness of the German language–and so many other things. I was missing her, and writing something that made me laugh, reminded me of the happiness she brought to this world.
