Nature’s Visits
The squirrel who cries
when it can’t get into the birdseed.
The hummingbird who greets me
each morning while I work on my laptop.
The butterfly who rests on my chest
while I water the garden.
The family dog who watched over me
when I was too sick to get off the couch.
The whale who rolled on it’s side
to peer deeply into my soul.
Blessings from nature
are often only for our eyes.
Encounters are too brief
to freeze in time with a photo.
These gifts are grace-filled moments
preserved only in our memories.
*Humpback whale tails can measure up to 15 feet (5 meters) from tip to tip.
