Looks like a beautiful mother-tree to me.
I’m amazed at the generations who cared for this sweet thing.
It is amazing.
It certainly is, Maggie.
Wow, Mary, I didn’t know they could live that long!
Me neither. That’s why I had to share. Thank you, Rosaliene.
Wow…amazing!
It’s hard to believe, isn’t it, Indira?
Incredible!!
Isn’t it, GP. How many people through the generations took care of that plant?
WOW! I bought a Bonnie earlier this month and it’s already dead. It was my first attempt and will not try again. My husband gets frustrated when I buy plants and kill them. I’ve been doing really good until I tried the bonsai.
I understand, Melinda. I wouldn’t want that responsibility.
I’d be afraid to care for something as old as that bonsai!
Right! Bonsais require daily care. Can you imagine inheriting that from generations of family members?
No, I’d be terrified!
LOL!
Oh wow, how awesome. I think you have to have patience and a special skillset to care for a bonsai. I’ve always been fascinated by them of course, but would never be so bold as to try and grow and prune one. Thanks Mary for sharing this wonderful creation. 🤗🌳😘
I recently posted on bonsai and learned that these little guys need daily attention! Too much of a commitment for me. This tree has been around since the Middle Ages. So crazy, isn’t it, Kym?
Oh my gosh Mary, I am with you about the daily commitment to these gorgeous works of art. You have to have some serious patience to meticulously snip here and there for the special effect. It is crazy about their longevity indeed my friend. 😊🌳🤗
I know that I’d need a lot of daily care and snipping if I live a portion of that time.
Girl Mary, don’t even mention it. Thank goodness this is the least of our worries, or should I say no worries and stress at all! LOL 😂😜🤣 Much love as always girlfriend. 🥰💖😍
Love back at you, my friend.
😍💕😘💖🥰 Awwww Mary! 🤗
It’s so beautiful 🌳
It’s mystifying how this fragile little plant survived in so many different hands. I doubt it came with an instruction manual. 🙂
Right, Nancy? It’s amazing for me to think about all this tree has seen.
Very beautiful, Mary! And amazing that they live so long.
Such a long life really is unbelievable, isn’t it Laura? I just looked up what was happening at the time that bonsai was born: 500 years ago English, Spanish and Portuguese sailing ships reached North and South America for the first time. They rightly thought by sailing west and the world being round that they would come to China in the east, by-passing the Ottomans. Maps at this time did not show the Americas.
Thanks for sharing that information! Certainly very interesting, to think back on what was going on in the world at that time. Always love a bit of history. 😊
Wow! Magnificent Bonsai!
Thank you, Amy.
I marvel over bonsai … and what a beautiful share, Mary ❤ ~ 🙂 Happy weekend!
Siri, I used to think I wanted one. Then I learned about all the time they require. The gardener has to be dedicated to that plant.
i love trees they have so much vharactor
Glad you like this old tree. It certainly doesn’t show it’s age, does it?
yes it looks great
There were many of them in Egypt, and we have them called the Sasaban tree. It is very beautiful. Thank you for the good participation. I wish you success and happiness
Thank you, Noga Noga. I recently learned how much attention these plants require. All the best to you.
Wow, that’s a beautiful bonsai. Thank you for sharing that picture.
Thank you, Edward. I recently learned that bonsai require daily attention. That’s a lot of time and hands invested in this tree. Certainly amazing to me.
Daily? That’s definitely a lot of caring. A lifelong commitment for sure.
It looks very cute!! Great picture🍒
Thank you, Jean!
This is a very special bonsai – beautiful.
How about that! Generations had to care for this little tree.
It is sure a gorgeous plant! 🙂
Not much can look so good after all those years! Thank you for chiming in, Ms. Marvellous.
incredible…and so beautiful. thank you for sharing, Mary…🤍
The little tree looks good for its age, doesn’t it, Destiny?
sure does…dare I say may we all age as it has 🤭
Wow! That is so amazing.
Welcome, and thank you for commenting.
Absolutely gorgeous. I can’t tell the size of this, but it also looks fragile, beautiful, strong, at the same time and takes you back centuries, I can’t imagine. Thanks for sharing!
Right? Sandi, this tree was born in the Middle Ages! Crazy, isn’t it?
Can’t wrap my mind around it! 😬
Bonsai are a whole world. So much time in a condensed way.
Great way of phrasing all of the responsibility this plant takes, Stephanie.
very stunning and eye catching
Thank you, Mister Maxxx.
Wow I never knew that
Beautiful.
I find this little tree’s resilient longevity, (and the patient human protection that has accompanied it across generations) quite poignant – it almost makes me feel a bit (happy) weepy – thank you. Linda xx
