From time to time, itโs good to read about topics we normally donโt choose. The variety opens the world to us and helps us understand situations and lifestyles we otherwise would know little about.
Jadeโs Broken Bridge, by Michele Lee Sefton, is one of those genres I wouldnโt typically choose to read. The story centers on a young woman who goes by the stage name of Jade and decides to take work as a dancer in men’s clubs to raise money for a college education. The gripping tale takes us through Jadeโs travels, romantic relationship, heartache, the sisterhood of dancers, and the claws of addiction.
Seftonโs masterful writing draws readers in emotionally to ride the waves of Jadeโs struggles and successes. This is one of those stories where readers no longer are in their personal reality but rather the world Seftonโs masterfully created. We canโt help but hang in there to learn if our heroine achieves her goal and the life of which she dreams.
