From time to time, itβs good to read about topics we normally donβt choose. The variety opens the world to us and helps us understand situations and lifestyles we otherwise would know little about.
Jadeβs Broken Bridge, by Michele Lee Sefton, is one of those genres I wouldnβt typically choose to read. The story centers on a young woman who goes by the stage name of Jade and decides to take work as a dancer in men’s clubs to raise money for a college education. The gripping tale takes us through Jadeβs travels, romantic relationship, heartache, the sisterhood of dancers, and the claws of addiction.
Seftonβs masterful writing draws readers in emotionally to ride the waves of Jadeβs struggles and successes. This is one of those stories where readers no longer are in their personal reality but rather the world Seftonβs masterfully created. We canβt help but hang in there to learn if our heroine achieves her goal and the life of which she dreams.
