So beautiful
This place looks amazing beautiful and it is great that there are no cars over there. Certainly there is a peaceful atmosphere. Good place to relax. Very lovely photos. Happy weekend to you Mary ☀️
Thank you, Jean. Here are three websites I follow and think you’d enjoy: https://www.fnal.gov/ https://earthsky.org/?mc_cid=ee765f59c9&mc_eid=15f252fb2d https://www.livescience.com/?utm_term=ECDFF466-2B22-43A9-B378-A7440CAF584E&lrh=7d763df98de62aa4e042de8e737ce9ebb65f2e0406bc9170fdf33c937eb68ada&utm_campaign=368B3745-DDE0-4A69-A2E8-62503D85375D&utm_medium=email&utm_content=3888FDC5-8DBC-42B6-949B-09D2F13521DC&utm_source=SmartBrief Enjoy your weekend.
Thank you Mary for these links, your absolutely right I enjoy these ☺️ You follow interesting websites, you surprised me again and very positively! I saved these links!
Oh that is awesome…. What a wonderful place to visit. Being surrounded by flowers everywhere. I especially admire the older couple in the back ground, walking close and holding hands. What an amazing tribute to love they are. Hugs my friend
I often look at my photos and see all kinds of things I hadn’t noticed when shooting. Enjoy your weekend, Dawn.
Enjoy your weekend to Mary. Hugs
You too, Girlfriend. Your package is in the mail.
Oh gosh, thank you Mary. I can hardly wait. Hugs to you and a great big thank you for your kindness and generosity
Your happiness makes me smile, dear Dawna.
That’s so cool!
It really is, CJ. Have a great weekend.
You as well!
Must be a great place! I admire the decoration of a trash bin with plants and flowers!
Right? Why haven’t we thought of that, Indira? It turns something ugly and stinky into something pretty.
A friend of mine was just here and mentioned that people get around mostly by foot or by bike. I’d love to visit—it sounds like a really interesting place to experience, even if just once.
Yes, Willie. Once is probably enough unless you lived very close or really were drawn to the location. I have a post coming up with more about the island.
Have you been there? Did you take the photos ?
Yes. I was there a couple of weeks ago when you noticed I wasn’t online often.
Oh ok. How did you like it ? I hear it’s lots of walking .
How interesting Mary. It doesn’t seem like a concept like this would be in the United States. Thanks so much for the share my friend. Lovely piece. 🤗💖🥰
It’s unusual, although, we have Amish communities in the Midwest, and some out west. The Amish do not have electricity, so they also are in horse drawn carriages. I understand that now some have one car for a community in the event of emergencies. Have a great weekend, dear Kym.
Oh wow, how awesome Mary! What a great bite-size history lesson for us my dear friend. Thank you, thank you, thank you! 🥰🙏🏼💖
Where are you located, Kym?
North Carolina girlfriend! It is hot here, so we need a vehicle to drive fast to get some air when our windows are down! LOL 🚗🏍🚙 Non-vehicle streets are only permitted when we have a festival going on and blocking everything off! 🤣😜😂
I am planning a trip to Ashville with my “girl” cousins. Can’t wait to visit your state, dear Kym.
Greetings
Hello.
Trust all is well with you today
And a cheery hello to you too! 😍🙏🏼😁
I didn’t say, “Greetings.” I don’t know who sent that, but I always wish you well, dear Kym.
No problem my dear Mary! I will always welcome a greeting from your smiling face any day my dear. Hugs and smooches to ya! 😍💋🌞
Ah, thank you. You are so sweet, Kym. I appreciate you.
Awwwwww Mary! 🤗😘🥰
My husband and I would love to visit Mackinac Island because we’ve heard so many glowing comments about it. We’ll likely go on a bus tour so we won’t have to worry about a car. Nice pics, Mary! 🙂
Great idea about the bus tour, Nancy. Sometimes, the libraries do this. Maybe Googling will come up with a solution for you. You don’t need more than a day or two there.
There’s a Christian radio station that offers bus tours to interesting locations. We went on one to Noah’s Ark and Nashville in June. We’re hoping they’ll go to Mackinac eventually.
where you get that picture. It’s time 😂
Looks like such a beautiful and peaceful place. 🙂
It is peaceful there, Ronit. Imagine not hearing traffic. Have a fantastic weekend.
Love it!
That’s is amazing!🤩
Thank you for taking the time to comment, Sia. Wishing you the best.
😊
I love it, so much quieter and done by hand. No doubt the neighbors are much happier.
There are only a few hundred people who live there year-round, a quiet community dependent on one another in the very cold and isolated winters.
How beautifully serene it must be. I think I would love to live there.
I’m not sure you’d like to live there in the winter. It can be cold and isolated. But, maybe, that is exactly what you’d enjoy. Thank you, MM.
Stunning ❤ … and why isn’t every trash can, not ornamented! What a beautiful solution you’ve found, Mary ❤ !!! Happy Weekend 🙂 !!!
Yes! What an improvement
how wonderful 🙂
Thank you, John.

Rustic scene. Thanks Mary🥰
Thank you, Arlene.
All trash bins should have flowers on them – love it!
Right? Why don’t we all do that! Have a fabulous weekend.
Thank you Mary, and you too.
And what an interesting island.
Yes, it is. Thank you for commenting. (Please remind me of your name 🙂
❤️
Great shots, Mary. Especially the second one…
Thank you, Festo. It was interesting to see.
😊
Thank you.
What a lovely place. Those trash cans look so pretty with the flowers on top.
I know, Pooja. It makes such a difference than just an ugly, stinky trash can on the street.
😊
Don’t they? What a difference the flowers make.
How wonderful!
😊
Wonderful! Flowers are everywhere, even on top of trash cans, love it!
Yes, Amy. You’d love it there.

The concept is very important, it should accepted and followed all over my country ,atleast we can expect low pollution with it.You had visited many beautiful places Mary, thanks for sharing……
Thank you, dear Prad.
How interesting, it looks like a beautiful place 😊
You’ll see more of the island today, Jessica. Happy Monday.
I have always wanted to visit here! I had a friend who went every summer growing up and loved it very much.
I bet you are right that it is a summer tradition for some. Maybe you can plan on going next year.
Hi Mary
GREAT! We use to visit Sark, an English island which banned cars and some of the carless North Sea islands. Modern life without cars seem to work on a small level pretty well.
All the best
The Fab Four of Cley

Mm, really? Up to now or it was just those days ?
That is how they pick up trash even now. No garbage trucks on the island. Amazing, isn’t it, Nijikhoisimon?
Oh that’s lovely 🥰
Thank you, Hitasakhi.
Wonderful 😊
I’m curious about your thoughts and comments.
