Such majestic animals. I have been too close. Once while hiking in the Rockies, I walked around a bend, and boom! Almost face to face.

    1. Mary K. Doyle

Wow! I’ve seen herds of elk but kept my distance. They are big and strong.

      1. AJ Schenkman

Sure are! Only moose are bigger.

Always good to see the elk out and about Mary. Happy Friday. Allan

I’ve seen herds in Colorado, but sadly, this little one was in an enclosed park. Hopefully, it had plenty of room. Thank you for checking this out, Allan. Do you celebrate Labor Day in Canada? It is the Monday in the US, so many will have a three-day weekend.

      1. kagould17

There are vast herds in the Canadian Rockies and in Jasper where we often go. As to Labour Day, other than the addition of the “u”, it is the same up here. Always the first Monday in September and it is a statutory holiday. Our 3 day weekend promises rain. Have a great weekend Mary. Allan
