Poem–No Humor in Humiliation

No Humor in Humiliation

You agree when T
makes Z dance for his supper,
β€˜til T bullies you.

*

Respect is fundamental in every relationship. Negotiations become uncomfortable when issues important to both sides need compromising. However, we can discuss issues diplomatically without ridiculing and demeaning one another.

Today, someone needs our help. Tomorrow, it is us–it is me and you, who beg for assistance and mercy.

Have you seen my book, Tranquility. Transformation. Transcendence?

    Very nice

    1. Mary K. Doyle

Thank you. Have a great week.

  2. Looking for the Light

T has made our country look so bad. They were like vicious dogs going after Z’s bone.

    1. Mary K. Doyle

      You’re right, Melinda. Very sad.

  3. Monkey’s Tale

    Well said Mary.

    1. Mary K. Doyle

      Thank you, Maggie. It’s shameful.

  4. Escribir Y Sanar

    Totally agree πŸ’―

    1. Mary K. Doyle

      Thank you, Madelaine.

  5. Violet Lentz

Fortunately, the world knows that the majority of Americans are not ok with what is going on. It’s unfortunate a huge segment of those people didn’t get out and vote.

    1. Mary K. Doyle

You’re right, Violet! Those who don’t vote can’t say anything now.

  6. kagould17

When the only way you can make yourself look big is by making someone else look small, you have lost the plot. A deal is done if both sides are happy, not if one side wins. Happy Monday Mary. Allan

    1. Mary K. Doyle

Yes, Allan. Exactly. Now, why don’t you run for office? Love to you.

      1. kagould17

I am too busy looking for a country to run to, before we are his next target. His State of the Union speech ought to be very telling tomorrow. Hugs Mary. πŸ€—

        1. Mary K. Doyle

I don’t think I can watch that speech. I won’t be able to sleep with thoughts of the devil running my country.

  7. Under the mask..

It doesn’t help to know that everyone who isn’t already thrown under the bus, will be. What a bizarre time, if certainly not unexpected. The dead leading the blind. For now.

    1. Mary K. Doyle

Yes, many of us remember T’s first term and knew it would only be worse. Thank you for adding to the conversation. I appreciate that you are speaking up.

  8. Kym Gordon Moore

Very well stated Mary. πŸ™πŸΌ I agree respect is fundamental and at times discussions seen futile, yet we still must try. Thanks for sharing and Happy Monday! πŸ˜˜πŸ’–πŸ₯°πŸ’πŸŒž

    1. Mary K. Doyle

Happy Monday, wonderful Ms. Kym. Thank you for your important comment. Love to you.

      1. Kym Gordon Moore

Oh Mary my dear, you are so very welcome as always. It’s my pleasure and I am wishing you a FANtabulous week of love, hope, and tender embraces! Cheers! πŸ₯°πŸ₯‚πŸ˜˜πŸ’πŸŒž

      Thank you. Much appreciated.

      1. Eternity

        You are very welcome

  10. P. J. Gudka

I very much agree. There is a correct way to do things and even when we disagree we should do so respectfully. Bullying other people that they feel are inferior is more of a sign of weakness of the bullies than anyone else as well as a lack of character.

    1. Mary K. Doyle

You are so right, Pooja. Thank you for reading and commenting. I pray you are doing well, sweet friend.

      1. P. J. Gudka

I’m doing much better, thank you so much.

        1. Mary K. Doyle

I’m happy to hear that, Pooja.

  11. luisa zambrotta

I totally agree with you, dear Mary … and I am quite worried about the global political situation that is being created

    1. Mary K. Doyle

Yes, Luisa. Anything can happen at this point. All I know is that prayer is powerful, so I’m praying.

      1. luisa zambrotta

        I’m praying too πŸ™

        1. Mary K. Doyle

          Thank you, Luisa.

  13. Escribir Y Sanar

Wow, Mary, I’m truly impressed! I knew you had been writing, but I had no idea you had so many books published alreadyβ€”this is incredible. I’m browsing through Amazon right now, checking out your books and trying to get some. Thank you so much!πŸ’«πŸŒΉ

Thank you for your input, Joan.

  15. Rosaliene Bacchus

Thank you, Mary. Our world has just become a more dangerous place.

    1. Mary K. Doyle

We’ve also lost our common courtesies, manners, ethics, compassion . . .

      1. Rosaliene Bacchus

        Sadly true, Mary.

  17. Cindy Georgakas

Sadly it’s the truth, Mary. Unfathomable! πŸ’•

  19. Dorothy’s New Vintage Kitchen

Sadly, right now, treating others with respect in our government doesn’t seem to be part of the playlist.

    1. Mary K. Doyle

You are right, Dorothy. Sad. Disturbing.

  20. johnlmalone

true: these are becoming fraught, disrespectful times —

    1. Mary K. Doyle

Yes, John. The rational population is disturbed and concerned.

    1. Mary K. Doyle

Thank you, Ms. Siri. That is the wish we all need, all hold on to. Love to you.

  22. Stephanie

It would be so nice to see a movement of good communicators making intelligent cases for civility and diplomacy and well-disciplined debate again, but I guess we’d also have to go back to having longer conversations.

    1. Mary K. Doyle

Every day is full of surprises, Stephanie. Let’s pray for good surprises. Thank you for adding to the discussion, my friend.

      1. Stephanie

        Good surprises it is! πŸ™‚

  23. Michele Lee

Solid analogy, Mary. Integrity has a strong backbone, even if that means standing alone.

    1. Mary K. Doyle

I felt I had to speak up, Michele. I hope you are well and happy, Sweetie.

      1. Michele Lee

I applaud you for doing so, dear Mary. Staying silent resolves nothing. Grateful to have made it through a busy day. Thank you so much Angel friend. Love to you.

  24. Ana Daksina

    That’s RIGHT! πŸ‘

    1. Mary K. Doyle

Very true thoughts and perspective on respect, Mary. It goes both ways πŸ™ Love to you always! ❀️

    1. Mary K. Doyle

      Love you, my sweet friend.

  29. Edward Ortiz

Well said, Mary. What T did to Z in front of the whole world was pretty humiliating. I believe you reap what you sow. T’s time will come, and he’ll be all alone.

    1. Mary K. Doyle

I hope you’re right, Edward. Thank you for hanging in there with me and half of our country, the half that remembers manners, compassion, and justice.

      1. Edward Ortiz

Yes, it’s very important that we stay together and continue to promote what truly makes us a great society.
