That’s great, we have to keep their comfort in mind. I’m sure those cobbled streets get hard after a while. Rome is high on my list to visit.
Rome has a rhythm of its own. You’d love it. Be sure to see the Vatican art museums and Sistine chapel, Melinda.
In my bucket list also will be visiting soon !
It’s fascinating, Hiasakhi. You will enjoy Rome.
Both are very high on my list. I think to see Rome you really need 3 weeks to see all the great wonders. The ruins are of great interest to me.
Wouldn’t it be fabulous to have that much time in Italy. Oh, and the food, Melinda!
The food, architecture, art, ruins, cathedrals and famous fountains and statues. And I’m sure there is much more than that!
Hahaha, love this one, a touch of humor that made me smile. 😊 thanks for sharing, Mary!
Happy I made you smile, sweet Laura.
😊 🩷🙏 have a great weekend!
You too, Laura!
What a lovely photo!!!
That’s your fabulous country, my friend.
👍👍👍
know, my dear Mary ❣️
Nice photo
Thank you!
Modern gladiator thinks of his comfort 😀
Wonderfully shared 🙂
Right? He’s prepared. Good to see you, Ms. Marvellous.
Love the running shoes! 😆 I’ve been to the Colosseum twice, but didn’t see any of these modern-day gladiators.
I’ve been to Rome a couple of times since but never saw the gladiators again, Debbie. Maybe they were tourists dressed for fun.
Love it. Great photo! Hugs Mary
Thank you, Dawna.
You are a true artist. I love seeing your work. One day perhaps I’ll be able to purchase one of your pieces and proudly display it in my home. Hugs.
Great share, Mary! 🙂
Thank you, dear T’.
Always a pleasure. ❤️
Great picture, they have interesting culture there and excellent libraries.
The magic of travel is seeing all of these wonderful places and meeting the people who live there. Thank you, as always, for commenting, my friend.
Also you have a good reason to take a trip to France. Enjoyable weekend to you!
Some day! I hope you are enjoying your weekend, also, Jean.
Yes you know when is the right day. Thank you I am having a good weekend. A bit business things for a while 😊
Happy Monday, Jean.
You too Mary have a happy Monday. Enjoy the beautiful weather and lovely birds☀️🕊️
Tennis shoes, black socks, and bare legs-now that’s a rugged gladiator! Interesting image of a historic spot in Rome, Mary. 🙂
LOL! Nancy, you are fun.
Oh no, not the mighty Gladiators in sneakers? 🤣 What a wonderful snapshot Mary! 📸
Thank you, Ms. Kym. 🙂
You’re so very welcome Mary. My pleasure as always my friend. 🥰🙏🏼🌞
Love to you, my friend.

That’s so cool although I guess historically inaccurate lol.
I thought the gladiators were fun and didn’t even notice the sneakers until I looked back at the photos.
What a peculiar photo! Love it.
Hahaha. Thank you, Stephanie.

Clearly, wonderful photography. It looks like a celebration in Rome
I think every day is a celebration in Rome. There always are a lot of tourists. Good to see you here, Nougat.

Love the sneakers, one must be comfortable.
Absolutely! LOL. Thank you for commenting.
Very nice.
Thank you!
If they knew then what they knew no, maybe they would have invented them sooner.. 🥺😂❣️
Right? I’m sure their shoes/boots had little support.
real cool
Thank you, Mister Maxxx.
It fun to see gladiators with sneakers there. 🙂
Thank you, Amy. I appreciate you taking the time to chime in here.

Dear Mary
Funny gladiator. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for commenting. Good to see you!
When I lived in Italy a story hit the national press. Most of the gladiators were there with the permission of organised crime. People who were not, were being bullied and moved on by the ‘criminal’ gladiators who then hustled tourists. The police moved in …… disguised as gladiators! So there were great pics of gladiators with pistols handcuffing other gladiators!

This is fascinating, Rowland. Thank you for sending that link. What a story.
I lived in Umbria for ten years. Visiting a country is wonderful but living in a different culture is a completely different experience especially learning the language, which I desperately wanted to do! Every day can be an adventure!
I admired your efforts and sense of adventure, Rowland. I’ve been to Italy several times and love it. But I don’t know if I could relocate, well, unless this upcoming election turns sour.
Rome is home to me 🩷 The sneakers are still very much in vogue!
Rome is a lively, fascinating city. I’ve been there a few times and loved every minute.
I’m curious about your thoughts and comments.
