What an awesome picture, 😍 beautiful 🐦🐦
Thank you, Prad. I had to share my little friends.
i like it .
Love it. One of my favorite birds. I have two hummingbird feeders and I love watching them as they come and get their treats. I’ve been trying to capture photos of my little friends, but they are too quick and get away.
They certainly are quick, Dawna. Occasionally, they sit and rest, but never for too long.
Oh, so lovely!
Thank you, Dorothy. These little birds are fascinating to watch.
I never seem to be able to find a camera before they are gone.
Happy Sunday, Dorothy. I work outside, weather permitting, with my camera next to me.
Always prepared!
Once a girl scout, always a girl scout. 🙂

Wonderfully clear photos!
Thank you, Stephanie. I am enjoying photography nearly as much as writing these days.
These are beautiful, you’re a great photographer.
Thank you, Pooja. I used to think of myself as a writer who takes photo. I’m getting more confident in my photography. It’s just been practice over time. Have a good weekend.
Your pictures are definitely really good. You can make a profession out of it if you like. Have a good weekend too.
Beautiful hummingbird Your photography is very wonderful. I wish you good luck, happiness and success
Thank you, Nougat. I appreciate your kind words. Blessings to you.
They’re so adorable to watch in action 🙂
They are, Rosaliene. I love them so much.
Lovely images.
Thank you, and welcome to Midwest Mary. So good to see you.
Thank you so much.
What beautiful photos! They are so quick, but you were able to get amazing shots. Well done! 🙏🏼😊
Thank you, Phoebe. I spend a lot of time watching and waiting.
Wow, those are some pretty amazing photos. What kind of camera are you using?
The first one was taken last summer with a Panasonic. The one in flight was with my Nikon 950. I prefer Nikons and have had a few through the years. I’ve taken hundreds of photos of the hummingbirds. Eventually, I get the show I want. The hummingbirds don’t like the camera, so I sit back and zoom in.
Thank you. Worth the wait; those were perfect.
Love hummingbird visits! Thank you for sharing yours. 🌼
Hummingbirds are so intriguing. Thank you for visiting, Michele.
Absolutely beautiful photos Mary! Catching birds certainly is hard!
Thank you, Laura. I wait and watch and take tons of photos.
Nice photos.
Thank you, Joseph. Have a good weekend.
This bird looks interesting, you have had exceptionally sharp and clear photos.
Thank you, Jean. It’s just patience and lots of photos to get the one.
I believe this, I know couple of nature photographers, you have succeeded very well. When it comes to this bird it is very small, isn’t it. Really cute and beautiful too🐥
Hummingbirds are only about 3-5 inches in length and weigh about 2-20 grams. They are so cute, Jean.
Yes they are 😊 Are they migration birds or do they stay over the winter there? Have a great new week Mary and stay well!
They do migrate. These little ones fly to Mexico with few to no stops along the way. I hope your week is productive and happy, Jean.
They go really faraway though they are so small, thank you Mary🌺
Wow! What lovely photos Mary.🥰
Thank you, Arlene. I love watching these little ones.

Beautiful
Thank you!
Wow, thanks for pointing that out.. I’ve never seen that before. 💓
Are you referring to the hummingbird’s long tongue, Cindy? It’s like a straw for them. Nature is so amazing, isn’t it?
nice
Thank you. All the best to you.
I’m so impressed with your humming bird photos. I tried to take a picture of a red throated humming bird the other day, and all I got was a bunch of blurry photos. Is there a trick to capturing their magnificence?
It’s a combination of a decent camera, lots of patience, and lots of shooting. Also, how you focus is important. If you keep shooting, Rachel, eventually you will have some good shots.
Thanks Mary! Maybe I’ll try using my camera instead of my phone next time. Great suggestions 🥰
Let me know if it works for you.
Beautiful shots, Mary!
Thank you, and welcome to Midwest Mary.

[…] Last Friday’s hummingbird photos raised a few questions about the magnificent, little ones, so I wrote a poem in response to those inquiries. You will find the poem after the second photo. […]
A great shot: clearly captured, delicate, and cute 🙂
