Photo–Peace Feathers

I’ve never seen a goose with feathers standing up like this, have you?

***If you are in the Chicago area, stop by my booth and say hello on Saturday, June 22nd at North Aurora’s Art and Craft Show, Creativity at the Crossroads (25 E State St, Aurora, IL). I’ll be selling my framed photos and books.

My son, artist Joseph Cannella, will also have a booth right next to mine.

      Thank you for stopping by!

  2. Willie Torres Jr.

Aww. I would have loved to go and see you and meet you both. Unfortunately, we are having a Birthday Party for my Mom that day.

I wish you luck and success.

    1. Mary K. Doyle

Thank you, Willie. Perhaps another time. I used to work a lot of trade shows and loved meeting my readers and buyers. It’s been a long time, though, and I’m not feeling very prepared.

  3. Dorothy’s New Vintage Kitchen

    A most unusual photo!

  4. Maranda

Yeah, never seen that I don’t think

    1. Mary K. Doyle

I’m not sure what happened. Are the feathers just brushed upwards, or are they ready to fall out?

      1. Maranda

Good question. I’m guessing it’s the latter, but who knows

  5. Monkey’s Tale

Very strange, it almost looks like someone put them there. Good luck at your show. Maggie

    1. Mary K. Doyle

Thank you, Maggie. I don’t know what happened with that poor goose.

  6. KK

  7. Looking for the Light

That’s great, wear plenty of sunscreen. Have a great weekend. 🙂

    1. Mary K. Doyle

Thank you, Melinda. I’ll pack the sunscreen while I think of it!

      1. Looking for the Light

I can’t wait to hear how the weekend goes for you and your son next weekend.

        1. Mary K. Doyle

Thank you, Melinda. I appreciate your interest. It’s supposed to be in the 90s, and I don’t feel well in the heat. Hopefully there will be low humidity.

          1. Looking for the Light

Texas heat is overwhelming, we’ve been having 90-94 degree days throughout the Spring and this week was oppressive except of one morning it was overcast and I did some yard work. Do they have cooling tents so you take breaks?

          2. Mary K. Doyle

I doubt there will be cooling tents, but I will have family members to help me.

          3. Looking for the Light

Great! Big a bigger cooler. Something I saw on TV, don’t know if it really works but it makes sense, one trick was to take two large plastic water bottles and fill them with ice, attach them to back of fan and it will blow cool are. The other was really cool, they took a larger cooler and cut out two holes to match a curved PVC pipe, you fill the cooler with ice, attach the PVC pipe and cool air will come out of the pipes. How I see improving the cooler method is attaching two small wind vents inside the cooler and you get much better flowing cooler air. Do you have those water-holding and absorbing headbands, I love them for working in the yard. I don’t like shorts and jeans are the worst in Texas during the summer, I wear these thin SPF capri pants with a quick-dry. I buy them on Amazon and if you want I can look up the name of the brand I buy. They are a great deal and last for years. They also have a tab pull on the bottom if you want them tighter, I don’t use it. I don’t care about fashion or looking cool in them, just great comfort and they are so lightweight. they have several zip pockets and I’ve been living in them.

I did get a little fan and will have a lot of water in a cooler. If it is too hot, I’ll leave. I quickly get dehydrated.

          5. Looking for the Light

            Me too

Happy Weekend, Mary ❤ !! Cute pic … I wonder if he knows? (lol) !!

    1. Mary K. Doyle

Right? It’s like wearing a flag. It reminds me of someone walking around with their skirt tucked in their underwear and not realizing what everyone behind them is looking at!

  16. marvellousnightmare

I adore birds… and especially the geese with peace feathers! 🙂 Amazing photo! ❤

  20. Mid-Life Mama

I have not seen geese with feathers up like that – and there are about 50 of them around the pond at one of my favorite walking parks. What a fun capture with your camera!
Wishing you (and your son) great success!

    1. Mary K. Doyle

Thank you. I’ve never seen feathers like that either. Thank you for the good wishes for the art show. It is supposed to be very hot. We’ll see if I hold up. I’ve had heat stroke and overheat easily.
