‘Tis the season for a flood of marketing emails. If you, like me, signed up with a number of companies to receive their coupons via email, every day during the holiday season you now are getting dozens, if not hundreds of emails from these companies. Mixed in with other messages that may be necessary to read, the extensive volume to sort through can make for one major headache.
The solution is to separate and organize as they come in. I have several email addresses. I have one for my general information including notices that my monthly bank statements are available or bills are charged to my credit card as well as other addresses for writing, publishing, and coupons. If I am waiting for a particular email, it is easy for me to watch under that address.
My coupon address is fairly short. It is one I give out often and I don’t want it to be too long or complicated Nearly all advertising and coupons go to this address. I can search for a particular coupon as needed, mark all emails as read or delete them with one quick click, or read through as desired. But for the most part, few of these emails are urgent and can be ignored for days or weeks.
The only drawback to this method is that when checking email on a computer, I must check in to each address. On a smart phone, these addresses are easy to skim through.
