Quite a pile of pumpkins. Do they give them away after the holiday?

    1. Mary K. Doyle

I asked that, but the women “on guard” didn’t have an answer. I wonder how many the squirrels get into. Thanks for stopping by, Ernie.

      1. Ernie ‘Dawg’

I’m betting a bunch lol. Have a great day Mary.

  2. Prakash Hegade

    😀 this had me smiles.

    1. Mary K. Doyle

I just want to pull out a pumpkin from the bottom and see what happens.

      1. Prakash Hegade

        Ha ha. Roll on 😀

      So cute!

  8. restlessjo

Lots of pie in the offing, Mary!

    1. Mary K. Doyle

LOL. I like to bake but do use canned pumpkin. I leave that pile for the squirrels. Or pumpkin football.

      1. restlessjo

I didn’t even know you could buy canned pumpkin. Probably not, here.

  9. Drops of Ink

Play the pile like Jenga, keep pulling from the bottom to see if it collapses 😂

    1. Mary K. Doyle

That’s what I want to do! Like minds. Thank you for commenting, Phoebe. Hugs to you!

      1. Drops of Ink

🫂🫂 right back your way, Mary. 😘

  10. Cindy Georgakas

Great shot, Mary! the question is, how many pies can you make wth that amount of pumpkins?😂🎃😂

    1. Mary K. Doyle

My goodness, I’ve had many good questions about these pumpkins. I should have asked the guard who stood by the pile! Thank you for chiming in, Cindy.

  11. Looking for the Light

I’ve always wondered if pumpkins other than orange taste the same.

    1. Mary K. Doyle

Interesting thought, Melinda. There are different colored potatoes, beets, and carrots, and I do think there is a difference, especially in the beets. So, who knows?

      1. Looking for the Light

It’s certainly possible because potatoes and sweet potatoes are nothing alike.

        1. Mary K. Doyle

Right? You make a great point, Melinda. Happy weekend to you, my friend.

It looks like you found a wonderful scene for a nice shot. Compliments for capturing such an inspiring moment with all those pumpkins🎃 gathered together.

    1. Mary K. Doyle

Thank you. I’ve never seen so many pumpkins piled like that before. I appreciate you taking the time to comment.

  14. Nancy Homlitas

How does the little white pumpkin stay balanced on the top of the heap? How was it placed without disturbing the pile? A cherry picker? Nice pic, Mary! 🙂

    1. Mary K. Doyle

      Great questions, Nancy.

    2. Nancy Ruegg

I had the same questions, Nancy! Even the top rows had to be tricky to position. How was it done without climbing on the lower pumpkins, which would make them shift? This structure is right up there with Easter Island for curious construction! 😁 (Thanks for sharing, Mary!)

      1. Mary K. Doyle

Hello Nancy, You ladies have the most fabulous questions, and I have zip for answers. Thank you for chiming in!

      2. Nancy Homlitas

        Great analogy, Nancy!

  15. Keep Calm & Drink Coffee

I tried to cook pumpkin pie with my son’s teacher recipe and it was DELICIOUS!

    1. Mary K. Doyle

Good for you! I make pumpkin pie, but I do use canned pumpkin. Did you use fresh or canned pumpkin?

      1. Keep Calm & Drink Coffee

Fresh. Here canned pumpkin is not so common, I don’t think I ever seen it in any store.
The hardest thing is the cut for me, I am weak 🙂

        1. Mary K. Doyle

I understand. All squashes need to be cooked for a short time to be able to cut through them without getting wounded. Enjoy the weekend.

          1. Keep Calm & Drink Coffee

            Yes, right, thanks!

Wow! Beautiful. Our area got hit with roving Javelinas — who seem to love pumpkins!?!

    1. Mary K. Doyle

I looked up javelinas, and I don’t think I’d like them wandering my home. They look scary, Gwen!

  19. Baydreamer – Lauren Scott

This pumpkin pile brought smiles! Thank you, Mary! 🥰

  22. Shweta Suresh

I wonder what they are going to do with all those pumpkins!

    1. Mary K. Doyle

This photo was taken at a strikingly beautiful public garden. Hopefully, they will use the pumpkins for animal feed or recycling. Thank you for your thoughtful comment, Shweta.

      1. Shweta Suresh

That’s good to know. Thank you for clearing that up, Mary

  25. Pooja G

Omg that’s so many pumpkins, were they for sale?

    1. Mary K. Doyle

No. I don’t know if we could take a pumpkin without the stack falling apart. It’s fun to see all the questions from this photo. Hugs to you, dear Pooja.

      1. Pooja G

It’s an interesting photo which I think would naturally lead to questions and conversations. It’s great that you captured it, it gave us all something to wonder about. Hugs.
